In "The Wonder Years":
Rebecca "Becky" Slater 10 , 11 , 17 , 37 , 40 , 46 , 48 , 56 , 68 , 69 , 93 (only from former episodes)

From episode 40 (courtesy RTL2). The Slater family lives on Elm Street; her father, Barney, runs a tire shop (mentioned by Norma Arnold in episode 10).

In real life she is Danica McKellar 's younger sister. For the McKellar family, see Danica McKellar.

Crystal was born in August 16, 1976. She took her first tap dancing classes when she was three. At the age of 7, her career began with radio commercials, for example one for Almond Roca. With 8 she did radio commercials for the Doubletree Hotel and Sunbelt Savings, a Savings and Loan. She did her first TV commercial when she was 9 (it was a Cabbage Patch Babies commercial with Candace Cameron), and a McDonalds commercial at age 12, but since she really never liked commercial auditions ("they're like huge crowded cattle calls" ), she stopped interviewing for commercial agents.

At the age of 12 she was appointed by the Star magazine as "the worst dressed."

Danica and Crystal like to ski. When they were younger, they both participated in a charitable celebrity ski tournament two years in a row - the Steve Kanaly Celebrity Ski Classic in Big Bear, California. Crystal still is on the downhill ski team of her university (1996).

Danica and Crystal are students at different universities. Crystal was studying history and taking economics courses at Yale (1996-1999) from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999.

There is an article from The Whip , a sheet published by one of the six parties of the Yale Political Union.

Remember me?

"It always surprises me when it happens," says Crystal McKellar, TC '99, when asked how she feels about being approached by people she doesn't know. To the avid couch potato, McKellar is best known as Becky Slater, Fred Savage's sometime girlfriend on the hit show The Wonder Years—but at Yale, she's an active member of the Tory Party and an editor of Portia. "It doesn't happen too frequently—probably about once a week. It happened a lot more freshman year, and there's always a spurt in September. When Nick at Nite ran a Wonder Years marathon last fall, people started coming up to me more often."

It's nice to see how well McKellar handles her status as a former prime-time celebrity. She doesn't seem annoyed that I've called her at 11:30 p.m. to talk about The Wonder Years. She says she's not bothered when people come up to her and ask about her days spent hangin' with Winnie Cooper. "It's always a good conversation starter at parties," she says, laughing. "When I don't know anyone, it gives us something to talk about."

Crystal was nominated for Best Young Actress Guest Starring in a Television Series for the 11th Annual Youth in Film Awards 1988-1989 for her role in "Paradise."

Danica and her sister Crystal were students of Diane Hill Hardin's Young Actors Space (like Leonardo Di Caprio).

According to her own words , Crystal was 12 and Josh Saviano ("Paul Pfeiffer") was 13, when they “dated.”
