Unwedded bliss for Olivia d'Abo
Olivia d'Abo, who plays Karen on ABC's The Wonder Years, is happy that
she didn't tie the knot with her live-in love, Michael (David Schwimmer),
at the end of the season-as was originally planned. According to D'Abo,
executive producer Bob Brush wanted to have a hippie wedding on a hill
for Karen. As it turned out, there wasn't time to shoot what would have
been a time-consuming episode, because Wonder Years dad Dan Lauria had
a season ending date written into his contract. Karen and Michael could
still end up exchanging vows on that hill, but as far as the actress is
concerned, "It's better that Karen just lives with Michael" because it
leaves more potential.
Married or not, Michael "is going to be around next season," says D'Abo.
"Kevin (Fred Savage) is going to be visiting his big sister. Kevin's growing
up and going to high school and it's good for him to be around new people
and new ideas."

(Remark by Peter Reynders: The article is talking about episode
90. They will have the hippie wedding in episode
91. D'Abo and Schwimmer will not come back into the show during the
last season, with the exception of the last
episode.)
