Biography:

Birthday: October 27th, 1953 in Philadelphia/Pennsylvania
  • graduated from the William Penn Charter School 
  • entered Yale University as a pre-med student
  • at Yale landed a role in Leonard Bernstein's "Mass," a musical theater piece originally commissioned for the 1972 opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. At the age of 19, he played a leading role in the European premiere of "Mass."
  • graduated with a B.A. in Drama from Yale
  • enrolled at the Circle in the Square Professional Theater Workshop, and after further appearences in the David Mamet play "Sexual Perversity in Chicago," and in "The Primary English Class" (with Diane Keaton), he made his Broadway debut by playing the leading role in "Gemini." His theater appearences include "Geniuses" and "Beyond Therapy" at the Los Angeles Public Theater, his role of Dr. McCaskill in "The Waiting Room" at the Mark Taper Forum, and "The Normal Heart" at the Berkeley Repertory Theater. For his performance in "The Normal Heart," he won the Drama-Logue Award.
