Neal Marlens In "The Wonder Years": 
had the original idea together with his wife Carol Black and was Executive Producer for episodes 1-19.  He has also written the scripts for episodes 1,2,3,4,7 together with Carol and directed episode 2 together with her.

Bob Brush became the show's new executive producer after series co-founders Carol Black & Neal Marlens resigned for "personal reasons" in spring 1989.

Neal Marlens has also created and directed the meanwhile controversial TV series "Ellen" (1994). Together with Carol Black he has created and produced the TV series "Growing Pains" (1985). He also wrote the script for The Growing Pains Movie (2000) (TV). 

Neal Marlens went to Walt Whitman High School in South Huntington. The maroon and white "Wildcats" mascot and logo that is used in The Wonder Years is the same as that of WWHS.
