FRED SAVAGE AND DANICA MCKELLAR RECOUNT 'THE WONDER YEARS' AS ROMANTIC OPPOSITES IN NBC'S 'WORKING'

Danica McKellar -- who first co-starred as Fred Savage's unrequited teen love in "The Wonder Years" 10 years ago -- guest-stars on Savage's current "Working" (Wednesdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) comedy series on NBC as a young woman who catches his eye once again.

Savage and McKellar, who worked and grew up together on "The Wonder Years" (now seen in reruns on cable) from 1988-93 while portraying Winnie Cooper and Kevin Arnold, appear in tandem for the first time since the series finale five years ago.

In the episode "As Bad As It Gets," working stiff Matt Peyser (Savage) tries to scuff up his shiny image as a hard-working, "goody two-shoes" by going to a bar and picking up an attractive but dangerous woman (McKellar). However, while Matt takes a walk on the wild side, he is agog when he learns that his new love has something in common with him that could prove disastrous.

The episode will be broadcast in March.

A native of Southern California, McKellar won her first acting assignment when she appeared in a commercial at age 10. Her subsequent TV movie credits include starring roles in NBC's "Camp Cucamonga," "Justice for Annie" and "Cradle of Conspiracy." She has guest-starred in the series "The Twilight Zone" (1980s version), "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Babylon 5" and "Sirens." She also appeared in the feature film "Sidekicks." In the last few years, she has been a university honors student in California.

Ratings on "Working" have steadily improved since its premiere in October.  During the six weeks of 1998, the series has increased its audience among adults 18-49 by 13 percent over its fourth-quarter 1997 numbers, and it has retained 98 percent of its lead-in audience.

Savage stars on the freshman series as an idealistic new hire who struggles to climb the corporate ladder in a bizarre, often absurd, multinational corporation.  Also starring are Maurice Godin, Yvette Freeman, Dana Gould, Kate Hodge, Steve Hytner, Sarah Knowlton and Arden Myrin.

"Working" is a production of NBC Studios. Michael Davidoff and Bill Rosenthal are the creators and executive producers.
